      U.S. Census information session

      The U.S. is required to perform a national count of all people living in each state every ten years. Census data is used to determine the level of federal funding for programs such as Medicaid and highway and transportation programs. Milton Rivera, Partnership Specialist with the U.S. Census Bureau, will be available to answer your questions on Monday, March 16th at 10:30. Topics include: What's new with the 2020 census? How to fill out the census What questions will be asked? Safety and the census How do I benefit from the census?  Is my information safe? Who needs to answer the census?  Confidentiality and the census

       
       
    • St. Patricks Day Party(Cancelled) Time: 11:00am - 1:00pm Locations: Arnold Senior Activity Center 44 Church Road Arnold, MD 21012 Details: May the luck of the Irish be with you today! Come and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with us with some Irish entertainment followed by catered Irish fare! Our entertainer will be Kaitlyn Likas (A.KA. The Wild Irish Rose), an award-winning fiddler and Irish/Scottish dancer. Then we’ll dine fine on a catered meal from O’Loughlins! We’ll start lunch off with scrumptious Reuben Egg Rolls made with crispy rye bread, corned beef, briny sauerkraut and creamy Thousand Island dressing, have our main meal of Shepherds Pie, a classic comfort food that's healthy, hearty and filling. The bottom layer is a mix of ground beef and vegetables in a delicious savory sauce. Then, it's topped with fluffy and creamy mashed potatoes that form a golden crust. And of course we’ll have green drinks and delicious desserts. Prize for the person dressed with the most St. Patty’s Day spirit! Event cost is $5.00 per person and limited to the first 35 people that pay and sign up!
       
       
    • Scrapbooking workshop(Cancelled) Time: 12:30pm - 2:00pm Locations: Brooklyn Park Senior Activity Center 202 Hammonds Lane Brooklyn Park, MD 21225 Details: Tuesdays, March 16th & 23rd; 12:30-2:00 Join us for a fun afternoon of scrapbooking! Learn about the basics of scrapbooking and pick up some new and creative design ideas. Bring in 5-7 pictures to create a 2 page layout; all other supplies will be provided. Sign up at the front desk for this free 2 week workshop. Spots are limited. Facilitated by Department of Aging & Disabilities staff member Lori Litke.

      Getting ready for Spring gardening season? Worried about back pain, knee pain, hip pain or a history of falls holding you back? Don’t worry, we’re here to help! Steve Williamson, DPT, CMTPT, COMT will be at the Pascal Center on Monday March 16th, at 1:00 to review body mechanics and safe strategies for working outside pain free this Spring season.

      We can answer questions, perform screenings, teach you exercises, and give recommendations for how Physical Therapy can help you with any activity. Come and join us and bring a friend for this interactive and informative session from your local NovaCare Physical Therapy.

       
       
    • Ethics Commission Contingent Meeting (only if called) Time: 4:00pm - 5:00pm Locations: 2666 Riva Road Annapolis, MD 21401 Details:

      The Ethics Commission is regularly scheduled to meet on the second Monday of each month, beginning at 4:00 p.m., in the commission’s office, unless rescheduled by the commission.  The commission will also have a contingent meeting scheduled for the third Monday of each month. The open portion of the meeting is usually quite brief, about 5-15 minutes.  Visitors are welcome to attend the open portion of the meeting.  If a person would like to bring a matter to the commission's attention or otherwise be heard during either the open or closed portion of the meeting, that person must notify the commission at least 24 hours prior to the meeting, providing that person's name and contact information. The commission has the discretion to permit a person to address the commission during a meeting, and may limit the time for the remarks of any speaker. The commission will not respond to questions or comments during a meeting, but upon request, will respond in writing to any speaker within a reasonable time after the meeting.

    • Chesapeake Forge Blacksmith Guild Meeting(Cancelled) Time: 7:00pm - 10:00pm Locations: Kinder Farm Park Details: The Chesapeake Forge Blacksmith Guild meets every Monday at 7:00 p.m. Members learn and practice new techniques as they work on their projects. No registration required. No gate fees.
