    • AARP Smart Drivers Course Time: 9:30am - 1:30pm Locations: Arnold Senior Activity Center 44 Church Road Arnold, MD 21012 Details: Refresh your driving skills with AARP’s driver safety course. You will learn defensive driving techniques, proven safety strategies and new laws and rules of the road. There are no tests to pass, you simply sign up and learn. Upon completion of the course, you could receive a multi-year discount on your car insurance. Please bring your driver’s license and AARP membership card with you to class. Fee is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members, PAYABLE AT SIGN-UP. Sign up by 2/13/20.

O'Malley Senior Center 1275 Odenton Road Odenton, MD 21113 (410) 222-6227 Details: This lecture will look at clothing styles from the Egyptians and Romans through the Renaissance to the Victorians. There has always been fashion as how we dress separates the wealthy from the poor and implies status, wealth and occupation. Registration required.

    • Discoveries: The Library at the Mall Ribbon Cutting Time: 11:30am - 12:30pm Locations: Discoveries: The Library At The Mall Details:

      The nearly 13,000 square-foot-facility will hold a kid’s preview day on Monday, February 17 and host a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, February 18 at 11:30 am. Discoveries: The Library at the Mall will open in the former Charlotte Russe and American Eagle stores near Crate and Barrel. 

      Originally launched as a pilot program, Discoveries: The Library at the Mall has proven an extremely successful location. The branch boasts the highest program attendance among all 16 libraries and has welcomed more than 100,000 visitors since its opening on April 30, 2018. The current location will close on February 10. 

      The new branch will feature expanded children and adult areas, Club 1117 teen space, a separate room for library programs, business services and more books, movies and computers.     

      The new location will feature the same hours as the current location serving customers Monday-Thursday from 10 am to 9 pm; Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and Sundays (September-May) from 1-5 pm.

They will discuss the necessary preparations for dealing with winter weather emergencies and disasters, along with information about what to do should we experience a winter emergency to keep yourself, your family and your pets safe.     • Open Monthly Grief Support Group Time: 2:00pm - 3:00pm Locations: Pasadena Senior Activity Center 4103 Mountain Road Pasadena, MD 21122 Details: The Pasadena Senior Activity Center hosts a monthly grief support group. This is intended for individuals who would like to share and have support amid experiencing difficult loss. It will be held the 3rd Tuesday of every month. Please contact the facilitator Beth Mucciacciaro RN with the Department of Aging and Disabilities at 410- 222-0263 if you are interested. Individual visits are available as well.
