Stream Water Chemistry Time: 9:30am - 12:00pm Locations: Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary Details:
Join our Stream Water Chemistry volunteer team to conduct field tests on dissolved oxygen content, and other parameters, at important streams feeding Jug Bay. Water samples are also collected for lab analysis. This is a great way to learn how to use professional equipment, see the park, and become involved in habitat monitoring efforts. Free. Winter Habitat Hike Time: 11:00am - 12:30pm Locations: South River Farm Park Details: Come hike with a ranger and learn all about what animals do during the winter and the different ways they deal with the cold. Skunk Cabbage Swamp Stomp Time: 1:00pm - 3:00pm Locations: Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary Details: Join volunteer Siobhan Percey, who studied skunk cabbage and learned a lot about this unusual wetland inhabitant. Walk off-trail to visit this fascinating plant, in bloom, along the swamp edges. Wear boots that can get wet. Bring a small flashlight if you have one. Ages: 12+. Fee: $5 per person.
