Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) Screening

Tue. Feb 11, 2020 10:00am - 11:30am
Brooklyn Park Senior Activity Center 202 Hammonds Lane Brooklyn Park, MD 21225
PAD is a condition in which the arteries supplying blood to the legs become narrow or clogged with plaque, constricting the flow of blood. This can lead to cramping, pain in the feet and legs, cold feet, discolored skin, and if left untreated, ulcerations, gangrene, and amputation. People with diabetes and a history of smoking are most at risk of developing peripheral artery disease. Staff from Podiatry Associates will visit the center to give a brief presentation about the disease and hold screenings afterwards. Held on Tuesday, February 11th from 10:00- 11:30. Screenings are free, non-invasive and take about 3-5 minutes. Please wear shoes and socks that can easily be taken off. Sign up is not required.
