    • Blacksmith Shop Workday Time: 1:00pm - 4:00pm Locations: Kinder Farm Park Details: Stop by the Kinder Farm Park Blacksmith Shop and watch the Chesapeake Forge Blacksmith Guild members forging metal, using various tools. Stand on the sidelines and view a trade that is over 100 years old but still very much alive today at Kinder Farm Park. The Blacksmith Shop is open on Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Monday nights from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

    • Chesapeake Forge Blacksmith Guild Meeting Time: 7:00pm - 10:00pm Locations: Kinder Farm Park Details: The Chesapeake Forge Blacksmith Guild meets every Monday at 7:00 p.m. Members learn and practice new techniques as they work on their projects. No registration required. No gate fees.

      A virtual public meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 6, 2021 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00  p.m. via the ZOOM.us platform by using the link or phone number(s) listed below. 

      This meeting which will focus specifically on the design plans and schedule to protect the shoreline from erosion at Mayo Beach Park. Construction is anticipated to begin in  Summer/Fall 2022 and be complete by Winter/Spring 2023. Work is expected to take place  during normal work hours Monday through Friday. You may see and hear construction  vehicles and equipment in the area. Road closure is not anticipated; there will be no impacts  to traffic patterns. 

      DPW officials will present information exclusively regarding the construction of the shoreline improvements, and will also answer questions from those in attendance. Please  note this meeting will be audio and video recorded.

      Join a Ranger at South River Farms to explore the creek and see the diverse things living in the creek and learn about why creeks are so important.
