Jean and Edgar Parker Rest Area Dedication Time: 1:00pm - 1:30pm Locations: See Description Details: Please join the Department of Recreation and Parks, the Friends of Anne Arundel County Trails, and Mr. Edgar Parker on Friday, October 15, at 1:00pm, for the dedication of the Jean and Edgar Parker Memorial Rest Area. This new picturesque rest area will mark the western terminus of the Broadneck Trail when completed. Mr. Parker, a Navy veteran and long time Arnold resident, is especially proud of his volunteer efforts. After the first section of the Broadneck Trail was completed in 2012, he helped create the Segree Rest Area by Broadneck Library. His wife Jean, also an active volunteer, passed away in 2007.
