    • Blacksmith Shop Workday Time: 1:00pm - 4:00pm Locations: Kinder Farm Park Details: Stop by the Kinder Farm Park Blacksmith Shop and watch the Chesapeake Forge Blacksmith Guild members forging metal, using various tools. Stand on the sidelines and view a trade that is over 100 years old but still very much alive today at Kinder Farm Park. The Blacksmith Shop is open on Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Monday nights from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

    • District 1 Town Hall - Listening Session for the Land Preservation Parks and Recreation Plan (LPPRP) Time: 6:30pm - 8:00pm Locations: Virtual Meeting Details:

      The Anne Arundel County Department of Recreations and Parks, along with County
      Council members, invite you to participate in a virtual District 1 Town Hall - Listening Session for the
      Land Preservation Parks and Recreation Plan (LPPRP).

      Anne Arundel County is updating its LPPRP to serve as a guide for land conservation and
      parks and recreation planning, park development, program improvements, and decision
      making. The “Town Hall” sessions will offer the Department an opportunity to further
      collect and evaluate information to better serve the public. The planned listening sessions
      are the second step in the Department’s outreach to the public for input to the Plan.

      The Department wants to hear your ideas and with its planning consultant will present the
      LPPRP, its purpose, and discuss the schedule for completing the 2022 update. A map of
      your District showing Recreation and Parks facilities will be presented. Following any
      comments which you may wish to make, registered public speakers will have two minutes
      each to offer their thoughts on our parks.

    • Campfire with a Park Ranger Time: 7:00pm - 9:00pm Locations: Spriggs Farm Park Details:

      Join a Park Ranger and other local experts on the bank of the Magothy River and discover the rich history of the land and water that once provided food and sustenance to local Native Americans, a 19th century home to the Spriggs family, a produce farm, and is now a preserved forest for future generations.

      Bring a portable camp chair and share s'mores and stories by the fire. Prepackaged s'mores supplies will be provided.

      Registration open to 5 year olds and up (5-17 year olds must be accompanied by an adult).

      Fee: $5.00 per participant
