2022 Land Preservation Parks and Recreation Plan
The Department of Recreation and Parks is in the process of developing its 2022 Land Preservation Parks and Recreation Plan (LPPRP).
Public parks and recreation facilities, and lands preserved for their agricultural and natural resource values provide Anne Arundel County residents and visitors with a wide array of services that benefit their health, the economy, and the environment. These places and amenities are vital pieces of community infrastructure.
Anne Arundel County uses the Land Preservation, Parks and Recreation Plan as an opportunity to collect and evaluate comprehensive data and information to better serve the public by identifying the:
- Locations, extent and recreational opportunities available at park and recreation facilities;
- Rates of park use and public participation in various types of recreation;
- Need for more parks and recreation facilities;
- Proximity of parks and recreation facilities to where people live; and,
- Accomplishments of the County to preserve agricultural and resource land.
The updated LPPRP will serve as a guide for land conservation and parks and recreation planning, park development, program improvements, and decision making in Anne Arundel County.
