The curbside collection contractor who services parts of Glen Burnie, Pasadena, Severna Park, Gambrills, Odenton, Laurel, and Maryland City is experiencinglabor shortages. This has resulted in collection delays this springand into the summer, which has primarily affected yard waste collection for residents in these communities.
To correct this issue with delays, DPW is hiring another service provider to assist with the collection of yard wasteasan interim measure.
Beginning the week of June 21, 2021, weekly collection of Yard Waste will occur on Wednesdays in these areas. This change will remain in effect until further notice. There are no plans to change the collection day for trash or recyclables.
