Plastic Bags, Wrap, and Film

Description:

Effective June 1, 2020, recycling of plastic bags, wrap, and film at County Recycling Centers is temporarily suspended due to COVID-19.

DO NOT put plastic bags of any kind into your curbside recycling container.  

Stretchy film plastic used to make bags or wrap. Examples accepted for recycling at County Recycling Centers and local retail stores include:

  • Grocery bags
  • Bread bags
  • Case overwrap
  • Dry cleaning bags
  • Newspaper sleeves
  • Ice bags
  • Wood pellet bags - not accepted at retail locations
  • Ziploc and other reclosable bags
  • Produce bags
  • Bubble wrap
  • Salt bags - not accepted at retail locations
Items NOT Accepted: Pre-washed salad bags, (Bio)degradable bags, “Crunchy” plastic wraps like candy wrappers or chip bags, mulch bags, potting soil bags, and Boat shrink wrap 
 

Preparation Instructions:

Return clean, dry plastic bags and wrap to your nearest county Recycling Center or participating grocery or retail stores for recycling and deposit them into marked recycling container near the store's entrance.

Plastic bags of any size, shape or color and plastic wrap (film) are no longer accepted curbside for recycling.
