Licenses

The Licensing Division issues various kinds of licenses including taxicabs, building trades (electrical, plumbing, mechanical, etc), amusements, bingo, and gaming for fundraising. Click on a license category below to access more information about applying for or renewing a license.

Non Trade Licenses are issued for various types of entertainment activities and venues, multiple dwellings, short-term rentals and certain types of vendor activities.

Auctioneer License

One who receives compensation for conducting an auction sale

Bingo Manufacturer and Distributor License

Person who manufactures, sells, causes or otherwise provides or distributes bingo equipment or supplies to commercial bingo license holders

Carnival License

Carnivals, bazaars, lawn-fete or similar fundraising events for no more than 12 days per year

Circus License

The circus license will only authorize the presentation of performances by people or animals

Coin Operated Devices

One video, pinball or similar game

Drag Races License

Drag races in a single location for no more than three days in each week for a calendar year

Fundraising Events

License authorizes bingo, paddle wheels, big-six wheels, and wheels of fortune for charitable organizations.

Huckster License

One who moves about the county, or goes door to door offering various products for sale or trade.

Liquid Waste Hauler License

Emptying or cleaning of any sewage disposal facility

Massage Therapy Establishment

An establishment or premises occupied and used for the purpose of practicing massage therapy or massage therapy training.

Mobile Home Dealer License

Authorizes the selling of mobile homes within the county

Mobile Home Park License

Operating a property with more than one residential mobile home

Mobile Home Space Permit License

One mobile home on residential property if home was lawfully in use since April 1966

Multiple Dwelling License

Maintaining and operating apartments, bed and breakfasts, hotels, motels, rooming houses and residences with two or more units

Parade License

Procession of people, vehicles, and/or floats

Pawnbroker License

One who operates a Pawnbroker business

Roadside Vendor License

Those who offer products for sale at roadside stands or from mobile facilities parked along the roads

Second Hand Dealer License

A person who commercially acquires and trades with the public in tangible personal property

Short Term Residential Rental

Short term residential rental as defined by the County Code

Taxi Cab Operator License

Those who own or operate cabs for fares originating within the county

Taxi Cab Vehicle Registration License

A license is required for any vehicle that is owned or operated and used as a taxi that picks up fares beginning in Anne Arundel County. This license is not required for personal rideshare services.

Towing Company License

Those who own or operate tow equipment for nonconsensual towing and in response to police department requests

Licenses are issued for common trades such as plumbing, electrical, mechanical and others.

Disposal System Contractor License

A Disposal System Contractors license for private sewerage systems and semi-public sewerage systems.

Electrician License

Master general electrician , master limited electrician or restricted electrician

Mechanical License

Those who install, maintain or repair air conditioning, heating or refrigeration systems

Plumber and/or Gas Fitter License

Apprentice, journeyman, master, restricted gasfitter and plumber who install, maintain, or repair plumbing systems

Utility Contractor License

A Utility Contractors license for a private water distribution system, private sewerage system, private storm drain system, etc.

Water Conditioner Installer License

This license only allows for the installation of a water conditioner. It does not allow the license holder to conduct any electrical work associated with the installation. There is no fee associated with this license.
