    • Anne Arundel County Gun Violence Prevention Task Force to Hold Meeting for Public Comment Time: 6:00p - 8:00p Location: Anne Arundel Community College Center for Applied Learning and Technology 101 College Pkwy Arnold, MD Details:

      Annapolis, Md (September 4, 2019) The Anne Arundel County Gun Violence Prevention Task Force announced that it will hold a meeting devoted to public comment on September 17.  
       

      Public comment is important to the task force. The September 17 meeting was scheduled to allow sufficient time to hear from interested members of the public. 
       

      Up to 40 attendees will be allocated 3 minutes each for verbal remarks. All interested individuals can sign up beginning at 5:30 p.m., and slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration will close promptly at 6:00 p.m.
       

      This meeting will be video recorded. Speakers and members of the audience are expected to be respectful and no inflammatory language or attacks on individuals will be permitted. Task force members will listen to all comments, but will not be expected to respond.
       

      In addition to the September 17 meeting, limited time for public comment is offered at each task force meeting.     • Emergency Preparedness Expo Time: 10:00a - 2:00p Location: Marley Station Mall Details: The Anne Arundel County Office of Emergency Management is hosting the 2019 Emergency Preparedness Expo on Saturday, September 21, from 10:00am - 2:00pm on the main parking lot at Marley Station Mall in Glen Burnie. This is a free, fun, and family-friendly way to BE PREPARED! Over 45 different hands-on displays and live demonstrations from County, State, Federal, and volunteer public service organizations. Fire trucks, police cars, a police helicopter, public works equipment, drone demonstrations, canine demonstrations, and much more! Meet the heroes who serve our community and learn to be better prepared for any emergency. While visiting the Expo, enjoy an inexpensive lunch from several food trucks and relax under our hospitality tent.

    • Joint Initiative to Eliminate the Achievement Gap Time: 6:30p - 8:30p Location: Arundel High School Details:
      Superintendent George Arlotto and County Executive Steuart Pittman invite you to the launch of the Join Initiative to Eliminate the Achievement Gap.
