Our Ambassadors

Community ambassadors will learn how to facilitate discussions and respond to incidents of racial controversy, bringing communities together to better understand each other’s viewpoints. The County will provide training for volunteers, as well as departments of County government, nonprofits and community organizations.

What do Ambassadors do?

Ambassadors promote diversity and engage county residents, visitors, and employees on things such as:

  • Understanding each other’s view points
  • Guiding citizens to resources such as training and education on diversity

Educate the public and private sectors regarding diversity, inclusion and issues of race, color religion, gender, age, national origin, marital status, physical or mental disability and sexual orientation

Our Ambassadors

  • Are county resident’s familiar in the neighborhood in which they work and live
  • Understand the diverse cultures of each neighborhood
  • Are trained in cultural sensitivity and community outreach
  • Carry picture identification and wear ambassador insignias
  • Have unique hours of operation and work areas for each part of the county
