Here are the steps for filing a Certificate of Candidacy:
Step 1 - Statement of Organization (Shall be completed prior to your filing appointment)
Statement of Organization can be submitted electronically at the Maryland Campaign Reporting Information System
Step 2 - Financial Disclosure Statement - The type of financial disclosure varies for the office sought.
(Shall be completed prior to your filing appointment)
Candidates for an Anne Arundel County office must file with the Anne Arundel County Ethics Commission - (410) 222-4412
Candidate for a Maryland State office must file with the Maryland State Ethics Commission - (410) 260-7770
Candidates for a judicial office must file with the Judicial Ethics Committee - (410) 260-1271 or (410) 260-1275

Step 4 – Bring the following to your appointment:
Filing Fee (Cash or Check only) Filing fees must be paid at the time of filing the Certificate of Candidacy. The amount of the filing fees depend on the office sought.
