Medical care (to include dental, vision, and mental health services) is provided for all inmates committed to JRDC who require treatment. While every effort is made to ensure the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions that exist upon arrival at JRDC, it is important that inmates inform the medical staff of any condition for which treatment and/or medication was necessary prior to their arrival.

Medication

Prescribed medication will be ordered by Medical Staff and Physicians and dispensed by Medical Staff.

Mental Health

Mental Health Services are available upon request. Inmates may request non-emergency services through the use of a sick call request form or by notifying their Case Manager. Trained clinicians are on staff; available during regular business hours and will schedule appointments as needed. Separately, the Detention Center operates a mental health unit. Inmates are referred, screened and selected for participation by staff responsible for the unit. Case management services are also provided to identified inmates to assist in the continuation and coordination of services in the community.
