Become an Election Judge

One of the responsibilities of the Anne Arundel County Board of Elections is the appointment of Election Judges to staff the Early Voting sites and polling places for the Primary and General Elections.
Election Judges may apply to work Early Voting days and/or General Election Day. Election Judges staff five (5) Early Voting sites and one hundred and sixty (160) polling places throughout Anne Arundel County during the Primary and General Elections.
All Election Judges are compensated for their services for Early Voting, Election Day, and attending a training class.  All Election Judges are required to attend a mandatory training class.  Election Judges will be paid $25.00 for attending training ($25.00 for the training class is contingent on you working as an Election Judge).  All Election Judges can expect payment six to eight weeks after the Primary and General Elections.
Each Judge works as part of a team including one Democratic Chief Judge and one Republican Chief Judge.  Under certain circumstances, a voter registered as "Unaffiliated" may work as a Chief Judge.
