Stabbing – Arrest                                                                       Glen Burnie
On May 4, 2019, at approximately 5:45 p.m., officers responded to 7818 Bruton Court in Glen Burnie for an assault. Upon arrival officers located a 30 year old male victim inside an apartment suffering from apparent sharp force trauma. A witness inside the apartment identified a male outside the apartment as the person who committed the assault. The suspect was arrested and was found to be in possession of a knife. The victim was transported to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries. The victim is currently in stable condition.

Fatal Injury Crash                                                                                        Glen Burnie
On May 4, 2019 at approximately 2:00 p.m., officers responded to Hospital Drive near Foxchase Drive in Glen Burnie for a single vehicle motorcycle crash. A KTM 690 Enduro motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Hospital Drive approaching Foxchase Drive when the driver lost control of the motorcycle and fell in roadway. The driver and motorcycle slid and came to rest without striking anyone or anything else. The driver, who was wearing a helmet, was transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center with critical life-threatening injuries where he was later pronounced dead. Excessive speed and reckless driving may have contributed to this crash. The Traffic Safety Section is handing the crash investigation and the case will be reviewed by the States Attorney.

Fatal Injury Crash                                                                                 Glen Burnie
On May 5, 2019 at approximately 11:39 a.m., officers responded to Ritchie Highway at Americana Circle in Glen Burnie for a crash involving a bicycle.    An Acura sedan was traveling northbound on Ritchie Highway approaching Americana Circle facing a steady green signal. A bicyclist entered Ritchie Highway exiting Marley Station Mall while facing a steady red signal. The bicyclist crossed Ritchie Highway towards American Circle, directly into the path of the Acura and was struck by the Acura. The bicyclist was transported by ground to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma in Baltimore with life threatening injuries. He was later pronounced deceased later the same day in the hospital. The driver of the Acura was not injured, and remained on the scene. The preliminary cause of the crash appears to be error on the part of the bicyclist. Speed and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in this crash. The Traffic Safety Section is handing the investigation and the case will be reviewed by the States Attorney.
