Northern District

Fatal Crash - Glen Burnie

On March 1, 2024, at approximately 1:30 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Ritchie Highway (MD 2) and Mountain Road in Glen Burnie for a two-vehicle crash.  A 2008 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling northbound on Ritchie Highway, and a 2020 Buick Envision was traveling southbound.  The driver of the Buick, having a green left turn arrow, began to turn left onto Mountain Road.  The driver of the northbound Chevrolet failed to stop for the red signal and struck the Buick.  The driver of the Chevrolet was transported by the Anne Arundel County Fire Department to an area hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. The driver and passenger of the Buick were transported by the Anne Arundel County Fire Department to an area hospital for treatment of minor, non-life-threatening injuries. This crash is under investigation by the Traffic Safety Section.

Strong-Arm Robbery (Citizen) - Glen Burnie

On March 1, 2024, at approximately 2:10 p.m., officers responded for a robbery of a citizen in the 7600 block of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard in Glen Burnie. The 68-year-old victim was approached by two black male suspects who struck him, causing him to lose consciousness. When the victim awoke, he noticed cash had been taken from him. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Strong-Arm Robbery (Citizen) - Laurel

On March 1, 2024, at approximately 7:30 p.m., officers responded for a citizen robbery in the 400 block of Brock Bridge Road in Laurel. An adult male victim was in his vehicle when three black male suspects approached him, all dressed in dark clothing. The males assaulted the driver and took his personal property and cash. The suspects then fled toward Route 198. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects. Western District

Shooting (Non-Contact) - Severn

On March 1, 2024, at approximately 7:10 p.m. officers responded for a report of gunshots in the area of Stewarton Court and Stillmeadows Drive in Severn. Responding officers located several spent shell casings on the ground. No injuries or property damage were reported. A witness saw a male dressed in all-black clothing running from the area. Southern District

Robbery (Citizen) - Annapolis

On March 3, 2024 at approximately 4:45 p.m. officers responded for a report of a citizen robbery on the 2nd floor of the Red Garage at Annapolis Mall. A teenage male was in the movie theater lobby when he was approached by two male suspects who told the victim to follow them outside. The victim went to the second level of the Red Parking Garage, where one of the suspects withdrew a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The suspects removed the victim’s wallet and fled on foot.  Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects.
