Northern District

Hate/Bias (Destruction of Property) - Glen Burnie

On February 5, 2024 at approximately 11:05 a.m., officers responded to a report of a vandalism at the St. Alban’s Episcopal Church located at 105 1st Street Southwest in Glen Burnie. The victim advised someone threw what appeared to be a heavy glass object to the front door causing damage to the door. Northern District detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to call 410-222-6135. Eastern District

Attempted Robbery/Fraud - Annapolis

On February 5, 2024 at approximately 8:55 a.m., officers responded for an attempted robbery and attempted fraud at the Wawa located at 321 Buschs Frontage Road in Annapolis. The female victim, who is the manager of the store, received a phone call at approximately 3:30 a.m. from a male claiming to represent Wawa. The male informed the manager that the company had an overdue bill that needed to be paid and instructed the manager to use money from the store safe and deposit it into a Bitcoin machine at the Exxon station next door. Before making the deposit, the Exxon employee advised the Wawa manager that this was most likely a scam. When the victim left the Exxon to return to the Wawa, an unknown male approached the manager, grabbed her arm, and attempted to take the money from her. The manager was able to retain the money and get away from the suspect, who fled. Eastern District detectives are investigating and ask anyone with any information regarding this incident to call 410-222-6145 or the Tip Line at 410-222-4700.

Western District

Armed Carjacking - Crofton

On February 6, 2024, at approximately 12:10 a.m., officers responded to the 2500 block of Ambling Circle in Crofton for a report of a carjacking. The victim was approached by three Hispanic males, one of whom displayed a handgun and took the victim’s keys. The suspects fled in the victim’s white 2020 Honda Accord. Officers searched the area and could not locate the vehicle. The vehicle was later discovered by officers unoccupied at the I-97 / I-895 interchange. Western District detectives are investigating and asked anyone with information to call 410-222-6155.
