Police Press Release - February 19, 2019

Northern District
 
Armed Robbery                                                                                        Linthicum
 
On February 17, 2019 at 8:30 p.m., officers responded to the McDonald's located at 717 Nursery Rd for an armed robbery. Two male suspects entered the business, displayed handguns and demanded currency. The store employee complied and the suspects fled toward Nursery Road. Officers searched the area with assistance from the police K9 unitbut were unable to locate the suspects. No injures were reported.
 
Suspects:
 
1) Black male, 20-40 years old, Approx 6'00" tall, average build, wearing dark clothing
2) Black male, 20-40 years old, Approx 6'00" tall, average build, wearing dark clothing
 
 
Shooting                                                                                                  Brooklyn Park
 
On February 18, 2019 at approximately 1:30 a.m., officers responded for shots fired in the 5200 block of Patrick Henry Drive in Brooklyn Park. Two unknown male suspects fired several rounds at the victim's residence. There were four occupants in the home at the time of the incident. A male occupant received minor injuries from shattered glass and was transported to the hospital for treatment. Officers searched the area with assistance from the police K9 unit but were unable to locate the suspects.
 
Western District
 
Attempted Homicide/Shooting (Update)                                                            Hanover
 
On February 16, 2019 at approximately 7:45 PM Anne Arundel County Police Officers were dispatched to the entrance 3 portion of Arundel Mills Mall for a shooting. Officers located several witnesses and obtained surveillance footage of the incident. While officers were investigating the incident an adult male subject arrived at an area hospital with a gunshot wound to his lower torso. The subject was a victim of the aforementioned shooting at Arundel Mills Mall and is in stable condition.
 
Detectives conducted interviews and collected evidence related to this incident. A suspect was positively identified and is currently wanted for attempted murder and a host of accompanying related charges. The incident stemmed from a verbal altercation between two groups of individuals previously unknown to each other. It was targeted and isolated in nature.

UPDATE (2/17/19):
 
Detectives identified 16 year old Jamari Marquese Hammond as the shooter. Hammond has an active arrest warrant, charging him as an adult for attempted murder and related charges. Detectives are actively searching for Hammond. Anyone with information regarding Hammond's whereabouts is asked to call 911.
  
 
UPDATE (amended 2/19/19):
 
On February 19, 2019 at approximately 10:30 a.m., Jamari Hammond responded to the Western District station accompanied by his mother to turn himself in. He was taken into custody without incident. A booking photo will be provided when available.
