Eastern District

Critical Injury Crash - Pasadena

On August 20, 2017 at approximately 9:07 a.m., officers responded to a single vehicle crash into a pole on North Shore Road at Mountain Road in Pasadena.  Investigation showed that a Chevy truck was traveling outbound on North Shore Road when it left the right roadway and struck a utility pole just before Mountain Road.  The driver was in critical condition and was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

The preliminary cause of the crash was the driver’s failure to remain in a single lane.  Neither speed nor alcohol/drug use is believed to be a factor.  Based on witness statements, a medical event may have incapacitated the driver prior to the crash.  The Traffic Safety Section is handing the investigation.

Northern District

Armed Robbery - Brooklyn

On August 19, 2017 at approximately 11:20 p.m., officers responded to the Pizza Hut located at 5000 Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park for an armed robbery.  An employee stated that the suspect wearing a black hooded sweatshirt over his face entered the business and displayed a gun. The suspect then jumped the counter and removed money from the register before fleeing the business on foot. Numerous officers including a canine unit responded and canvassed the area but the suspect was not located.

Suspect: Black male, thin build, wearing dark clothing

 

Western District

Armed Robbery - Crofton

On August 19, 2017 at approximately 4:18 a.m., officers responded to the 7-11 store located at 2046 Davidsonville Road in Crofton for an armed robbery.  The clerk stated that the suspect entered the store, displayed a handgun, and demanded money. The clerk complied and the suspect fled the store on foot. Numerous officers including a canine unit responded and canvassed the area but the suspect was not located.
