    • Ethics Commission Meeting(Cancelled) Time: 4:00p - 6:00p Location: 2666 Riva Road Annapolis, MD 21401 Details:

      The Ethics Commission is regularly scheduled to meet on the second Monday of each month, beginning at 4:00 p.m., in the commission’s office, unless rescheduled by the commission.  The commission will also have a contingent meeting scheduled for the third Monday of each month. The open portion of the meeting is usually quite brief, about 5-15 minutes.  Visitors are welcome to attend the open portion of the meeting.  If a person would like to bring a matter to the commission's attention or otherwise be heard during either the open or closed portion of the meeting, that person must notify the commission at least 24 hours prior to the meeting, providing that person's name and contact information. The commission has the discretion to permit a person to address the commission during a meeting, and may limit the time for the remarks of any speaker. The commission will not respond to questions or comments during a meeting, but upon request, will respond in writing to any speaker within a reasonable time after the meeting.

    • Sawmill Workshop Time: 9:00a - 12:00p Location: Kinder Farm Park Details:

      Weather permitting, Kinder Farm Park's very own Sawmill Club will be running logs through the mill. Wood milled from the sawmill can be seen around Kinder Farm park, including inside the Tobacco Barn Museum and Visitor Center.

      Antique Equipment and Sawmill Club’s mission is the restoration and display of the park’s antique farm equipment, tractors and sawmill. Our goal is to offer presentations and displays of antique farm tools and equipment so that those participating can experience farm life in historical Anne Arundel County. The lumber from the sawmill is used in many of the small barns and other structures in the park.

      The AA County Office of Emergency Management will do an orientation to Winter Weather Preparedness. Participants will receive free emergency preparedness handout materials as well as a personal Sample Emergency kit.

       
       
    • Rabies Clinic Time: 12:00p - 3:00p Location: 411 Maxwell Frye Road Millersville, MD 21108 Details:

      Due to the significant increase in positive rabies cases experienced in Anne Arundel County, Animal Control is doing its part to help protect all Anne Arundel County pets from the deadly rabies virus. 
       

      Low cost rabies vaccinations are available every Thursday (except holidays) for a period of 3 hours at Anne Arundel County Animal Control. For the period of July - September the rabies clinics will be held from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. From October - June the clinic will be from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. The veterinarian leaves promptly at the end time for the clinic. Depending on the length of the line, Animal Control may conclude the line at an appropriate time to ensure all individuals remaining in line receive the services.
       

      Due to health and safety concerns for animals and humans alike, the Rabies Clinic will be canceled on any day that the anticipated heat index is above 100 degrees or if other inclement weather that could jeopardize the safety of pets and humans. 
         
      Be sure to bring a bowl and water for your animals to drink while you wait in line!
       

       
       
    • Baltimore Ghost Tours: Fells Point Ghost Talk Time: 12:30p - 1:00p Location: Pasadena Activity 4103 Mountain Road Pasadena, MD 21122 Details:

      Steeped in history, this talk covers ghost stories both humorous to tragic, from old salts to Baltimore Hons. A costumed performer will regale Pasadena Senior Center with tales of Fells Point as it was, an 18th century maritime village busting with sailors, immigrants, and ladies of the night calling out of windows to passer-by-and walking in and out of the boarding houses and taverns that lined the streets.     • Adopt A Plot Workshop: Part I Time: 10:00a - 2:00p Location: Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary Details:

      Come learn the ropes of our Adopt a Plot Monitoring Program. Volunteers on this team will have an opportunity to emerge themselves in a plot(s) in a variety of habitats. At this workshop we will root ourselves into Maryland plant pests and identification resources we will be using. The monitoring data will be utilized to map out several diagnostic metrics to help the Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary staff make informed management decisions. Participants will learn to identify plants, signs of several animal species presence and other key factors that enable to understand this beautiful place even more!       The Friends of Kinder Farm Park Historical Society invites you to step back in time and visit the Kinder Farmhouse Museum during the holidays. Various Garden Clubs of Anne Arundel County will adorn the farmhouse with decorations for the Holidays and our docents will tell you about Henry and Hilda Kinder and their eight children that called this farmhouse their home. Admission to the farmhouse is free; however, park gate fees still apply.
