    • Sawmill Workshop Time: 9:00a - 12:00p Location: Kinder Farm Park Details:

      Weather permitting, Kinder Farm Park's very own Sawmill Club will be running logs through the mill. Wood milled from the sawmill can be seen around Kinder Farm park, including inside the Tobacco Barn Museum and Visitor Center.

      Antique Equipment and Sawmill Club’s mission is the restoration and display of the park’s antique farm equipment, tractors and sawmill. Our goal is to offer presentations and displays of antique farm tools and equipment so that those participating can experience farm life in historical Anne Arundel County. The lumber from the sawmill is used in many of the small barns and other structures in the park.

    • A Fishy Day at Jug Bay Time: 9:30a - 12:00p Location: Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary Details: Want to have a fun day and learn about what kind of fish live in the Patuxent River? Come and join experienced biologist Chris Snow to catch fish at the edge of one of Patuxent River channels using a seine net. You will learn how to identify different fish and fun fish facts! The group will meet at the Wetlands Center and hike to the River Farm to do the seining. Come prepared for the weather and to get wet, please bring a change of clothes. Age 10 and older.       ViewFinder, an advanced video journalism class at the University of Maryland, invites you to our screening on Wednesday, May 17th at 7:00 p.m. Come experience the yearlong documentary covering the opioid epidemic in Anne Arundel County. We tell the stories of members of the community affected by this crisis. The screening will take place at the Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold. We hope you can join us for the premier of the important and compelling reporting project created by our award-winning team of student photojournalists with Bethany Swain.
