Anne Arundel County Department of Inspections and Permits Announces Enforcement Efforts to Improve Stabilization of Construction Sites Prior to Wet Weather Events
Notice Date:

It is a violation of County Code to create a source of offsite erosion or sediment deposition. The County Code (§ 16-3-204(c)) requires temporary and permanent stabilization of certain areas of construction sites using methods described within the 2011 Maryland Standards and Specifications for Soil Erosion and Sediment Control. Additionally, § 16-3-204(d)(5) of the County Code authorizes additional stabilization and erosion controls in the event of wet weather.

In an effort to protect adjacent property owners, streams and the Chesapeake Bay from sediment eroding from construction sites, and to improve compliance with State and County erosion and sediment control laws and regulations, the attached memo is effective immediately.
