Chief Wolford Announces the Assignment of Lieutenant Jennifer Macallair as Fire Department Public Information Officer

(Millersville, MD) Anne Arundel County Fire Chief Trisha Wolford is pleased to announce the assignment of Lieutenant Jennifer Macallair as the Fire Department Public Information Officer.

Lieutenant Macallair is a 13-year member of the department. She was most recently assigned as an Investigator in the department's Fire and Explosives Investigation Unit. Additionally, Lieutenant Macallair served as a lead Recruit Training Officer (RTO), overseeing the fire department's recruit training program in 2018. Lieutenant Macallair was the first female to serve in this role at the training academy. 

"Lieutenant Macallair has an established history of service to the public supported by formal education, centered on public communications," Chief Wolford said. "She shares my vision for maintaining timely and transparent communication with our community and partners."

"Effective communication with our communities is a fundamental public safety component," said Lieutenant Macallair. "Connecting our communities, partnering agencies, and the media with our department's mission is vital in maintaining public trust. I look forward to being a part of this team and furthering our relationships with all we serve," she continued.

Among her career accomplishments, Lieutenant Macallair recently graduated from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. The National Academy offers ten weeks of advanced communication, leadership, and wellness training, and participants must have a proven record as a professional within their agencies to attend.
