Collapse Rescue- Glen Burnie

Location/Address: 299 Roesler Ave, Glen Burnie, MD 21061

Type of Incident: Structural Collapse (Deck Collapse)

Description of Structure/Property: Split Foyer, single-family home.

Injuries: 12 adults were injured in the collapse and taken to local hospitals for treatment. 5 of the patients were taken priority 2, serious, non-life threatening injuries, and 7 patients were taken priority 3, non-life threatening injuries.

Other Assisting agencies: Anne Arundel County Police.

Number of Responding Firefighters: 35

Additional Information: Several AACoFD Fire Crews, including our special operations, collapse rescue teams, responded to a report of 20x30 deck that had collapsed with several adults on the deck at the time of the collapse. Crews arrived and began stabilizing the scene while triaging patients. Twelve total patients were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. The cause of the collapse is unknown and has been turned over to the insurance company.
