Transportation Plan for Major Intersections and Important Facilities

What is this project about?

The Major Intersections and Important Facilities (MIIF) Study is the fourth and final component of the County’s Transportation Functional Master Plan. The other three components of this Master Plan are:

  • The Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan update completed in 2013

A primary purpose of developing the MIIF Study is to evaluate the mobility and accessibility needs of residents, commuters, and businesses along specific facilities of the regional travel network in Anne Arundel County. The facilities selected for this study also serve an important public safety function as they are the main roadways accessing the many peninsulas of the county. View a map of the study area, including the facilities to be included for study.

As the final component of the County’s Transportation Functional Master Plan, the findings and recommendations of this effort (MIIF) will be integrated with the findings and recommendations of the prior three study components to create a comprehensive assessment of multi-modal transportation issues, opportunities and recommendations in Anne Arundel County to the year 2035.
