Annapolis, MD (March 26, 2024) - Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman issued the following statement regarding the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge.
“Anne Arundel County is working closely with our partners to monitor the situation following the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge. Anne Arundel County rescue teams were on site early this morning, and Anne Arundel County Fire Department personnel and assets remain on the scene to assist.
I want to thank all of the first responders who have been working through the night to search and provide care to those involved in the collapse. I am keeping them and everyone directly impacted by the collapse in my prayers.
I will remain in close contact with Governor Wes Moore, Mayor Brandon Scott, and County Executive Johnny Olszewski, and members of our federal delegation. Anne Arundel County will continue to assist our partners as we all respond to this tragedy.”
