SKIP | | | | The Sheriff’s Kids Identification Program (S.K.I.P.) has been a staple in Anne Arundel County community events since 1995. The program is designed to better prepare parents in the event their child becomes lost or missing. S.K.I.P. is a public service where members of the Sheriff’s Office will respond to public events and fingerprint children in attendance. The fingerprint cards are then sent home with parents for safekeeping as a permanent record. The use of fingerprints and a photograph are the two single most important tools utilized by the law enforcement community for recovering missing children. Fingerprint cards, ink, and related supplies for S.K.I.P. are purchased by the [Anne Arundel County] Sheriff’s Foundation.
Any organization or other party wishing to have S.K.I.P. attend their next function is encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (410) 222-1571. While this program is provided without charge to the public, donations will gladly be accepted via the Sheriff’s Foundation. |
