The Sheriff’s Kids Identification Program (S.K.I.P.) has been a staple in Anne Arundel County community events since 1995. The program is designed to better prepare parents in the event their child becomes lost or missing. S.K.I.P. is a public service where members of the Sheriff’s Office will respond to public events and fingerprint children in attendance. The fingerprint cards are then sent home with parents for safekeeping as a permanent record. The use of fingerprints and a photograph are the two single most important tools utilized by the law enforcement community for recovering missing children. Fingerprint cards, ink, and related supplies for S.K.I.P. are purchased by the [Anne Arundel County] Sheriff’s Foundation.

Any organization or other party wishing to have S.K.I.P. attend their next function is encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (410) 222-1571. While this program is provided without charge to the public, donations will gladly be accepted via the Sheriff’s Foundation.

Effective October 1, 2007, fees for Service of Process will increase statewide (Annotated Code of Maryland, Article-Courts and Judicial Proceedings, Section 7-402).
