Community Events

In addition to the core services provided by the Anne Arundel Sheriff's Office, staff routinely engages in myriad of community activities and public events. These run the spectrum from one time occurrences to regularly scheduled happenings. Examples include deputies participating in the annual Special Olympics Torch Run, Polar Bear Plunge and Cardboard Boat Race to representing law enforcement in parades and similar public forums, to providing funeral escorts upon request. In addition to community policing efforts such as the Sheriff's and Kids Together Program (S.K.I.P). We also provide K-9 demonstrations and classroom talks on various public safety issues.

Effective October 1, 2007, fees for Service of Process will increase statewide (Annotated Code of Maryland, Article-Courts and Judicial Proceedings, Section 7-402).
