Babysitting Basics
Learn how to find babysitting jobs, how to recognize age appropriate behavior, how to handle safety issues and what activities to do with the children. This program is certified by the American Health and Safety Institute.  Course will also include First Aid information and CPR certification. A certificate of completion will be issued to all who successfully complete the course. Instructor: Sheri Price

Etiquette Camp
This program, designed and taught by Tad Pole Dreams, Good Manners Instruction, is guaranteed to make your children more successful in their relationships with adults, friends and family by showing how good manners DO make a difference! Games, crafts, and activities will emphasize the importance of good manners, including interview skills, telephone manners, thank you notes, table manners and much more.

Chess
Spend a week playing and learning about chess from the Silver Knights Chess coaches.  Our coaches are highly rated professional chess instructors. Campers are broken into groups based on skill level; we invite all levels of play from beginner to advance.  Activities include learning opening, tactics and endgames, studying master games, playing rated games against fellow students and analyzing the students’ games.  Campers will take short breaks for snacks and for fresh air every hour. Full day campers will eat lunch and enjoy recess from 12:00 – 1:00pm. Each child will receive a t-shirt and a tournament-style chess set.  Campers must provide their own snacks and drinks.

Future Fun Science Camps
   

Basic Blast-Off Rocketry Camps 
Become a model rocketeer!  Build, set-up and launch level 1 model rockets as a member of the National Association of Rocketry (NAR) and the Blast-Off Rocketry Club of Odenton.  Learn the principles of rocket flight and design and enjoy a visit to the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.  Taught by Marc D’Arcangelis, an experienced model rocketeer and AACPS teacher.

Advanced Blast Off Camp
A challenging program for model rocketeers who have completed the Blast-Off Rocketry Camp and/or are members of NAR BORCO 642.  Activities include building and launching levels 2 and 3 model rockets and visiting the Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum at Dulles Airport in Sterling, Virginia.  Campers who attended basic camp last summer must renew their NAR membership prior to the start of camp. Taught by Marc D’Arcangelis, an experienced model rocketeer and AACPS teacher.

Animal Adventure
Animal Adventure Camp is a hands-on science camp.  Kids will become familiar and comfortable with many animal species by studying and interacting with LIVE animals.  Our goal is for every camper to have an enjoyable week while gaining an understanding of the animal kingdom.  Participants must provide their own lunch and drink.

CSI Camp
CSI Camp is a hands-on science camp. Students investigate, analyze and solve a crime using real forensic techniques and equipment.  Our goals are for every camper to have an enjoyable time working together to gain knowledge about crime scene investigation and participate in a mock trial. Participants must provide their own lunch and drink.

Mad Science Camps
Science sessions offer a unique combination of hands-on activities with extended science investigation.
 

Movin’ and Groovin’ with Science
Investigate arches, egg shapes and geodesic domes and build your own “pasta scraper.”  Become a chemist for the day creating substances in the hands-on chemistry lab. Create a chromatography t-shirt to take home. Study photography by learning how a camera works, and much more!

The World Around Us
Children will learn about the things they encounter everyday.  By investigating their bones and their senses of taste, touch and smell children will understand how the parts of the body work together. The science of weather and music give the children a fun way to look at the world around them.

Ooey, Gooey, Yummy
Children will use all of their senses to investigate the properties of magnets, lights and sounds. They will learn the properties of a polymer by making slime. Technology Mania
This class combines several technologies to give the students an introduction to the digital world.  Using digital cameras, microscopes, robots and more, students will learn the skills necessary to investigate the scientific method, solve mysterious problems and create a multimedia presentation along the way.  Come discover and explore; the possibilities are endless.

Clay and Animation
Put your child in the director’s chair to create their own clay animation movie.  Using age-appropriate software, students will film, add text, music, and voice to the images they create.  When the movie is complete, they can impress other students, teachers, friends and family with the movie on a CD of their own.

Deliciously Nutritious Cooking Camp

Join us as we explore and prepare healthy foods from around the world. We will learn the importance of combining healthy food choices with some fun exercises, we’ll also make our own cookbooks and much, much more. This class is designed for the youngest of chefs and for children and parents who want to obtain a healthy lifestyle. Deliciously Nutritious will stimulate the children’s five senses and give them the basics they need to make healthy food choices. The children will be able to take what they learn from this course, apply it to both home and school and carry it throughout their lifetime. We eat what we cook, so snacks and lunch will be provided.

In this popular program, students focus on a different artist during each day of the week.  We’ll take an in-depth look at the time period in which the person lived and the evolution of their artistic styles throughout their careers. Princess Camp
It is the dance party your little princess has always dreamed about.  At Princess Camp you will become royalty.  Come learn age-appropriate dances, dress up and play princess.  You will create your own tiaras, wands and dress up as a royal princess.  Each princess will learn a basic dance and perform at the Royal Crowning Ceremony.  Don’t miss the fun.

Superhero Camp
Join forces with Spirit Unlimited to expand your child’s imagination and help them become the ultimate superhero.  Each Superhero will have the opportunity to pick out a costume of the day and make crafts that help them defeat the villains.  We will also keep the young hero active throughout the day with action packed activities and sports.

South County Intensive Dance Sessions

Dance the day away! Ballet, Jazz, Modern, and Drama techniques will be discussed and practiced during the week long sessions. Each day will focus on a different style of dance and time will be spent learning technique as well as choreography. Both sessions will be similar in schedule but will not be considered progressive. The choreography taught in week one may not be taught in week two; however, those who attend both sessions will build upon technique and grasp concepts more easily in the second week. Cheer and Dance
Cheer and Dance camp teaches creative dances, cheers, partner stunts, sidelines, proper safety and technique and more! Parents are welcome to watch the performances on the last day of camp. Dance for Cheerleading
Kick, Leap and Jump your way to the newest dance techniques taught by the “Spirit Unlimited Dancers.”  Learn a variety of exciting and upbeat dances that will showcase your best dance talent.  Camp includes instruction in basic dance and technique in Jazz, Hip Hop and Ballet.  Camp includes a daily craft project and end of camp performance.  All participants are encouraged to bring a large water bottle, snacks and lunch for the all day camp.

Jump Bunch
Jump Bunch is a FUN non-competitive camp for children to learn more about fitness and the fundamentals of skill play and sports. It helps build self-esteem, a healthy body, and a life-long love of sports. Come join us for activities that may include; “back yard games”, “fun at the races”, “jump, jump, jump”, “run the bases”, “reach your soccer goal”, “round and round”,  “games with a twist” and “games just for fun”.  All participants are encouraged to bring a large water bottle and snack.

Beginning Tennis
Instruction will be provided by the Annapolis Tennis Club. Participants will learn the ins and outs of the tennis basics including serve, forehand, backhand, footwork, strategy of the game, singles and doubles.  Only practice makes perfect.  All participants are encouraged to bring a large water bottle and snacks.

Magic Camps
 

Mystery Academy: Magic Performance
This program focuses primarily on the Performance of Art of Magic.  Students will train in a variety of forms of magic, sleight of hand, mentalist, apparatus, coin, card, wand and handkerchief magic, learning the basics of what it means to be a magician.  A variety of magical games, craft projects and activities accompany serious magic instruction.  A performance follows at the end of the week, where students perform in a close-up setting for parents and friends.  Campers must provide their own lunch, snacks and drinks.

Mystery Academy: Magical Fun
This program is perfect for children who are just starting to become wizards!  They learn magic tricks as well as puppetry and magic-themed craft projects.  This course aims at developing wizardry skills, as well as overcoming stage fright and building kinesthetic skills with magic props.  Each child will develop their imagination and confidence while learning magical effects.
