Enrichment Camps
Babysitting Basics
Learn how to find babysitting jobs, recognize age appropriate behavior, handle safety issues and what activities to do with the children. This program is certified by the American Health and Safety Institute. This course will also include First Aid information and CPR certification. A certificate of completion will be issued to all who successfully complete the course. Instructor: Sheri Price

Chess
Spend a week playing and learning about chess from the Silver Knights chess coaches! Our coaches are highly rated professional chess instructors. Campers are broken up into groups by skill level, so we accept anyone from total beginners through experienced and highly rated tournament players. Each camper receives a t-shirt and a tournament style chess set. Activities include learning opening tactics, endgames, studying master games, playing games against fellow students and analyzing the student’s games.

KidzArt: Caribbean Adventure
Arrgh! Matey! Dive right into KidzArt’s Caribbean Adventure camp! Our experienced “Captains” will help bring life to fun-filled projects. Pirates will set sail on a voyage of creativity with treasure maps, sculptures, Caribbean themed drawings, acrylic painting, pirate treasure and much more. Prepare to have fun or walk the plank! Campers must provide their own lunch, snacks and drinks. There is a $30 material fee payable to the instructor on the first day of class.

KidzArt: Inspiration From The Masters
This camp will be filled with inspiration! Whether your child is interested in becoming an artist or just loves to draw, studying famous artists can be an excellent way to spark creativity and promote a lifetime love of art! Our “masters in training” will explore a variety of media to create original artwork, including a self portrait, a watercolor piece and a Pop Art Ice Cream Sculpture inspired by the styles of Picasso, Monet and Warhol. KidzArtists will proudly present their work at a brief art show on Friday. There is a $30 material fee payable to the instructor on the first day of class.

Secret Agent Spy Camp
Attention boys and girls! Your mission, should you choose to accept it... is to train as a Secret Agent with your friends. Please report to KidzArt for this thrilling spy themed art camp, filled with fun, creative projects, drawings, paintings and puzzles to solve. Test your secret agent skills in our “laser maze” and on a Decoding Scavenger Hunt. No prior spy experience necessary. This document will self-destruct in 30 seconds. There is a $30 material fee payable to the instructor on the first day of class.

KidzArt: Dolls! Dolls! Dolls!
Calling all American Girls! Whether she’s from New York or Target, your 18” doll is going to love coming to camp with you! Dress your doll up for our daily fashion show and themed days like Pajama Day and Twin Day! Each day we will use our creative thinking and artistic talents to make special items for you and your doll. Some projects will include: a framed portrait of your doll, matching jewelry, an original doll t-shirt designed and created by you and a sweet picnic set complete with handmade clay food! We’ll finish our week with a fashion show and a fabulous tea party! There is a $30 material fee payable to the instructor on the first day of class.

KidzArt: Hogwarts School of Art
A camp for all wizards! Our KidzArt “professors” will kick off camp with the sorting of our first years into their houses. Since Olivanders is all the way in London, we’ll need to make our own wands. Don’t miss out on Quidditch and Potions Class! Many other colorful, magical drawings and projects are planned. We’ll finish the week with a graduation ceremony and chocolate frogs! TeenzArt: Fashion Forward: Design Challenge
Do you have a passion for fashion? Well this is the camp for you! Campers will practice sketching techniques, develop personal artistic styles and create original fashion designs through fun and encouraging “inspiration challenges.” Our Fabulous Friday Fashion Show will feature finished products - each camper’s original, wearable designs! Each camper will receive their own sketchbook, t-shirt, fabric and quality art supplies.

Magical Fun
Attention Beginning Wizards! Younger children learn magic tricks as well as puppetry and magic-themed craft projects. This course aims to develop art appreciation, overcome stage fright and build kinesthetic skills with magic props. Each child will develop their imagination and confidence while learning magical effects. All supplies included in the cost. Staff to participant ratio: 1:10.

Magic Performance
Focusing primarily on the Performance Art of Magic, students train in a variety of forms of magic: sleight of hand, mentalism, apparatus and coin, as well as learning the basics of what it means to be a magician. A variety of magical games, craft projects and activities accompany serious magic instruction. A culminating performance allows students to perform an effect they have mastered in a close-up setting for parents and friends. All supplies included.

Musical Theatre Camp

Join West Arundel Creative Arts as we journey “under the sea” with Ariel and her aquatic friends in Disney’s THE LITTLE MERMAID JR., adapted from Disney’s 2008 Broadway production. In a magical underwater kingdom, the beautiful young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her ocean home – and her fins – behind and live in the world above. Camp participants will have the opportunity to be part of Little Mermaid Jr. in a variety of experiences including cast member, dancer, set design, junior stage manager, singer and more. All participants will be given a role in the production. Our youngest campers will vary their day with additional camp activities such as arts & crafts and group games. Camp Director Rebecca Feibel is a local award-winning actress and director and our Assistant Director is Macarthur Choral Director, Lisa Rodvien.

Puppetry Camp
Campers will be introduced to a wide array of puppets including bag puppets, shadow puppets, human puppets, marionettes, tribbles, sock puppets and improvisational puppets. Emphasis will be on comedy and script writing for the puppets. Parents are encouraged to come on the last day of camp to see the children perform.

Young Scientists, Old Bones: Dino Camp
Students will be actively engaged in hands-on paleontology experiences as they study the dinosaurs in the Mesozoic Era. All students will conduct an archeological dig and reconstruct their own dinosaur to be displayed in the FASTRACKIDS Museum.

Destination Constellation Space Camp
Students will take a virtual trip to the moon as they learn about planets, stars and the life of an astronaut. Students will build their own spaceship, launch rockets and make an astronaut helmet.

Tae Kwon Do
Master the basics of this Olympic sport from the U.S. Tae Kwon Do Union’s teacher of the year, Master Chien Vuong. Learn discipline, selfcontrol, respect for self and others and techniques for dealing with bullies. Work out in bare feet on Olympic mats.

Beginning Tennis
Instruction will be provided by the Annapolis Tennis Club. Participants will learn the ins and outs of the tennis basics including serve, forehand, backhand, foot work, strategy of the game, singles and doubles. Only practice makes perfect.

Bike Riding Camp
This camp provides a hands-on, educational way for children to master the art of bicycle riding. Learn basic bike riding, steering, shifting, braking, safety and rules of the road. In addition to improving skills, this bike camp gives children a chance to socialize and interact with their peers, getting away from the TV and into the great outdoors this summer. Participants receive camp t-shirt and stickers. Required equipment: Bicycle without training wheels, helmet and bike gloves.

3-2-1 Blast OFF!
This action packed week will focus solely on rockets and the physics of rocket flight. After learning the model rocket safety code, campers will build a number of different rockets and participate in the launching, mission control, propulsion, and finally, recovery of the rockets they build. EUREKA – The Inventors Camp
Creative Contraption Warning! This is a camp designed by you – the inventor! Each day you’ll be given a series of challenges which must be overcome using basic materials, simple machines, tips from world famous inventors and the most important thing of all, your mind. With a little bit of ingenuity you will construct catapults and forts, fabricate a winning Egg Drop design, play with a dancing robot and assemble a working light saber to take home.
