Planning a Special Event in the Bacon Ridge Natural Area
The Bacon Ridge Natural Area has limited public access. In 2012, the Department of Recreation and Parks instituted revisions to Special Events held at County parks, including a revised Fee Schedule. Only registered non-profit organizations may submit a permit request for an activity or use of the property.
Any event, use or activity proposed for the property must support the purpose of the Conservation Easement: To preserve and protect the environment of the Property and to maintain permanently the open-space values of the Property and the dominant scenic, rural, woodland, natural habitat, and wetland character of the Property.
Note: There are no parking facilities, potable water, electricity or restrooms at BRNA. There is very limited trail access from any public road. Parking at the Crownsville Hospital Center and/or the Cemetery are contingent on the County obtaining permission from the State—request a special event permit for permission to park at these locations.

Conservation Easement restricts certain activities or uses on a portion of the BRNA. Areas of outside of the Conservation Property may be subject to similar restrictions.
