| Planning a Special Event in the Bacon Ridge Natural Area |
| The Bacon Ridge Natural Area has limited public access. In 2012, the Department of Recreation and Parks instituted revisions to Special Events held at County parks, including a revised Fee Schedule. Only registered non-profit organizations may submit a permit request for an activity or use of the property. |
Any event, use or activity proposed for the property must support the purpose of the Conservation Easement: To preserve and protect the environment of the Property and to maintain permanently the open-space values of the Property and the dominant scenic, rural, woodland, natural habitat, and wetland character of the Property. |
Note: There are no parking facilities, potable water, electricity or restrooms at BRNA. There is very limited trail access from any public road. Parking at the Crownsville Hospital Center and/or the Cemetery are contingent on the County obtaining permission from the State—request a special event permit for permission to park at these locations. | |
