Quiet Waters Park Rules and Information

 

Rules (General list only)

  1. The possession of or use of alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited.
  2. Parking is ONLY permitted in designated parking areas unless under special direction from park staff.
  3. Vehicles must travel on roads only.
  4. Bicycles must travel on roads and designated paved paths only. Off-road biking is strictly prohibited.
  5. Pets must be controlled and on an adequate leash at all times.
  6. You are required to pick up after your pet and dispose of wastes properly.
  7. Vehicle entry to park is by main gate only.
  8. Vehicle entry to the park and to the South River Promenade stops one half hour before the posted closing time.
  9. Boats may not dock on the park shoreline, overlook or at the boating concession dock. Interested parties are required to check with the boating concession for further guidelines concerning access by dinghy.
  10. Littering within the park, county and state is illegal. Violators face fines.
  11. Smoking is prohibited in all buildings.
  12. Please support our recycling efforts by placing aluminum cans in the containers provided throughout the park.
  13. Pavilions are by reservation only.
  14. Groups over 20 persons must rent a pavilion.
  15. Tents of any kind are prohibited in the park except by special permit from the Park Superintendent.
  16. Weapons of any kind are prohibited on park property.
  17. All balloons and confetti are prohibited in the park.
  18. Sound amplification equipment is prohibited within the park.
  19. All persons and vehicles must exit the park by the posted park closing time except by special permit from the Park Superintendent.
  20. All rules and policies stated in the Anne Arundel County Code apply.

  • 340 total acres
  • Picnic pavilions 6 (available by reservation only)
  • Over 6 miles of multi-use paved trails
  • Reflecting pool
  • Ice rink (closed until further notice)
  • Quiet Waters Cafe (closed until further notice)
  • Seasonal boat rentals (Paddle or Pedal)
  • Scenic overlook at mouth of South River and Harness Creek
  • Visitor Center
  • Blue Heron Center (available by reservation - meetings, receptions, etc.)
  • Formal gardens
  • Large playground
   

Operations

Open six days a week - approximately 7:00 a.m. - dusk
Closed Tuesdays
Closed Thanksgiving day and Christmas day

     

Note

Boat rentals are run as a concession contract. While the county holds the contract, the concessionaire is responsible for the operation of the activity.
