Are there fish in the lake? |
During late winter through early spring the State Fisheries stock the lake with Trout. There are also Largemouth Bass, Catfish, Bluegill, Crappie, Pickerel and Carp in the lake. |

Do my children and I need a license to fish at the lake? |
Persons 16 years of age and older need a fresh water license and (a Trout stamp during the season). Children under 16 years old just need a fishing pole. License are not sold here at the park but can be purchased at local bait/tackle shops and some sporting good stores. |

| Am I allowed to put my canoe or rowboat in the lake? |
No, the only water activities allowed at the lake are shoreline fishing and observing the waterfowl. |

What is the earliest time I can enter the park to go fishing? |
The park opens at 7:00 a.m. year round now. Early fishing was discontinued in August 2008. |

| If I sign up for the Adopt-A-Duck program do I get to take a duck home? |
The Adopt-A-Duck program has been disbanded for years now. Feeding of park waterfowl (ducks, geese, etc.) and all park wildlife is prohibited. |

How do I go about having a family reunion at the park? |
If your group is 20 people or less there are open picnic sites that are on a first come first serve basis at no charge. Groups over 20 people must have a pavilion reservation. Reservations are made in advance, contact the Facility Scheduling Office, Mark Oliver at (410) 222-7311 ext 3539. There is a large pavilion which allows a group of up to 100 people and two small pavilions which allows a group of up to 50 people at each. Alcohol is prohibited. | When are the lights turned on at the tennis and basketball courts? |
Court lights will only be turned on for Anne Arundel County organized league games. They are on a first come first serve basis unless the Department of Recreation and Parks is holding an organized program. |

| May I bring my dog to Lake Waterford Park? |
Yes, pets are allowed at the park but must be on a leash at all times and under the control of the owner. Pet owners are responsible for immediate clean up of their pet's defecation. Pets are not allowed to swim in the lake. |

| How late is the park open? |
The park closes at dusk everyday. There are signs throughout the park to inform you of the exact closing times. |
