Open Days at Hammond's Connection

Hammond’s Connection at the Dairy Farm will be a 176-acre park which will highlight the rural and agricultural nature of the Dairy Farm. Construction of the Park has not begun, but the public is invited to explore the Dairy Farm during Open Days and other special events.

Open Days Schedule

Hammond’s Connection will be open once a month for visitors to reconnect with the land through a variety of activities. Enjoy a hayride to the site of the future park. Natural surface footpaths, lined with storyboards on local plants and animals, will meander through the site. Information about the future plans for Hammond’s Connection will be available.

Please leave pets at home. Trails may be muddy, sturdy walking shoes recommended.

Hammond Family History: Sunday, September 19, 1:00-4:00 p.m.

The Odenton Heritage Society will provide guided tours of the cemetery and homesite to bring to life the history of the prominent Hammond family. Other activites include the hayride to the Park, kids "make and take," and composting. The 4-H animals will be at the Anne Arundel County Fair.

Maryland Sunrise Farm’s Corn Maze will be open (fees may be charged for Maryland Sunrise Farm activities). Visit their web site http://mdsunrisefarm.com/ for more information.

Birds of Prey: Sunday, October 17, 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Meet the live hawks and owls from Downs Park to learn the importance of birds of prey to a healthy environment.

Getting Ready For Winter: Sunday, November 21, 1:00-4:00 p.m.

The crops have been harvested and the wild animals are preparing for winter. Bundle up to take one last hay ride and exploration of the park.

Maryland Sunrise Farm Corn Maze

The Corn Maze will open September 11. Saturdays 11 am -7:00 pm    Sundays noon – 7:00 pm (COLUMBUS DAY, OCTOBER 11, MONDAY 10:00 am-7:00 pm)

Maryland Sunrise Farms Admission Fees:  Adults  $9;  Groups of 10+  $7; Children 5 – 12  $5;  Kids under 5 with families, free! Haywagon rides $4, Kids hay maze & hay jump, Pumpkins, Stocks for n'er-do-wells, Kids Cow Train $2
