The mission of the Anne Arundel County War of 1812 Bicentennial Commission is to increase awareness of the War of 1812 and its impact on our region. By encouraging citizens and communities to plan activities and sponsor events during the Bicentennial years (2012 - 2014), the Commission will work closely with history enthusiasts and the general public to learn more about the county’s connection to the War of 1812 and thus promote historic and environmental preservation and conservation.
