Trailblazer Volunteer  Program

The Friends of Anne Arundel County Trails

The Friends mission is to “promote, protect and enhance” the trail system in Anne Arundel County. In accomplishing their mission they have initiated several unique and exciting volunteer and enhancement opportunities. One popular program they run is the ‘Adopt a flowerbed’ program. Flowerbed volunteers help to keep the trails beautiful by tending the flowerbeds and landscaped gardens throughout the trail system. Visit their website at www.friendsofaatrails.org to learn more.

Trailblazers

The Trailblazers are members of the safety management team at the Anne Arundel County Trails who assist the Park Rangers. They serve as extra eyes and ears on the trails, alerting the Rangers to any visitor service problems or safety hazards they may find. Trailblazers assist the public as goodwill ambassadors to cyclists, joggers, rollerbladers and others who visit the trails. You can pick up an application from the Ranger Station at Earleigh Heights Road on the B&A Trail. Call Park Office at (410) 222-6244 for additional information.
