Message from the Director - |
We Must All Be Good Neighbors |
|
| |
As the new season begins, the Department of Recreation and Parks is issuing a reminder that we must all be good neighbors. |
| |
Efforts must be made to control the impact of our programs on the surrounding homes and businesses. Each year the Department receives calls from concerned neighbors on the following matters. We ask that you take the appropriate effort to control: |
| |
| Parking – Every effort should be made to park legally in parking lots and roadways. Neighbors often complain of blocked driveways or even parking on lawns. Consider assigning a parking coordinator. |
| |
| PA Systems – Volume and content need to be monitored closely. Remember, while it’s exciting for everyone at the game to hear players announced and game announcements made, not everyone in the community shares that excitement. |
| |
| Bonfires – Remember, any outdoor burning requires a permit issued by the Health Department and permission from the property owner. Let us know far enough in advance and, if possible, we will grant permission. Extremely dry or drought conditions may not allow for a bonfire. |
| |
| Lights – Please be responsible in the use of the field lights. In addition to using a large amount of costly energy to operate, if left on overnight, they are extremely annoying to neighbors. |
