| | | | | | About Mr. Ron Blake | | Ron Blake was a noted and respected leader in the Odenton Community. As the first president and one of the founding members of the Gambrills-Odenton Recreation Council, he worked diligently and effectively to build and enhance the sports programs and recreational opportunities in his area. A member of the Kiwanis, the Odenton Improvement Association, and the first president of the Arundel High School Boosters Club, he coached both baseball and football and led successful movements to acquire land for GORC programs, and to provide high quality facilities. As a member of the County Recreation & Parks Advisory Board, he initiated the community grant program. His accomplishments and his legacy as one of Anne Arundel County’s foremost community leaders inspire our tribute to him. Ron Blake died in August 1984. | | | | | | Return to Recreation and Parks |
