First Annual Lifeguard Competition |

| On Sunday, December 23, 2007 the North Arundel Aquatic Center in Glen Burnie held the first Annual Lifeguard Competition between Arundel Olympic Swim Center and North Arundel Aquatic Center. Each facility entered two teams, consisting of four lifeguards per team. Events included: brick relay, clothes relay, hot potato, back boarding skills, and a mystery event of collecting coins off the bottom of the pool. The goal of the competition was to bring the two facilities together to test their life saving knowledge and ability to work as a team. |

| We are pleased to announce the winner! Arundel Olympic Swim Center won first place with 46 points. The North Arundel Aquatic Center came in second place with 38 points. The last two teams were tied with 34 points. Judges from Southern Maryland scored the competition. The Arundel Olympic Swim Center will be awarded a plaque to display at their facility. The Arundel Olympic Swim Center in Annapolis has agreed to hold the Annual Lifeguard Competition in 2008. |
