2007 Anne Arundel County Fair Queen Emily Jellick

Severna Park High School student, Emily Jellick has volunteer many hours with the Maryland Therapeutic Riding Center; she has earned the Silver and Gold Awards in Girl Scouting, and raises her dairy goat at Kinder Farm Park with the 4-H program. Emily’s goal is to attend the University of Maryland, College Park, College of Agriculture next year.

One of Emily’s Anne Arundel County Fair pageant requirements was to submit a 1,000-word essay to the judge panel about agriculture and the future of agriculture in Anne Arundel County. In Emily's essay she described that elementary schools would benefit from the wealth of agricultural information at the Anne Arundel County Fair. Emily wrote in her essay how school groups would also benefit from the hands-on learning at Kinder Farm Park. The park offers visitor an opportunity to see an operating blacksmith shop, extensive community gardens, variety of farm animals, and the facilities where the animals live.

Congratulations to Emily Jellick from Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks!
