 | | Patuxent Wetland Park Clean Up |  | | | | The first major environmental action at the County's newly-acquired Patuxent Wetland Park took place on Saturday, April 14, 2007. Over 25 volunteers, plus the Patuxent Riverkeeper staff, Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary staff and ten local Girl Scouts participated in one of the largest trash clean ups ever at Patuxent Wetland Park. The clean up was organized by the Patuxent Riverkeeper Fred Tutman and his staff. | | | | The results: | - 60 large bags of trash
- 15 truck and auto tires
- 100 feet of old SHA silt fence (buried in marsh muds)
- mounds of discarded fishing line
- miscellaneous other dumped junk (mattresses, exercise machine, old coolers, etc.)
