The Anne Arundel County Police Department is committed to informing the community and the news media of events within the public domain that are handled by or involve the agency. To operate effectively, law enforcement agencies must obtain the support of the public they serve. By providing the news media and the community with information on agency administration and operations, the department hopes to foster a relationship of mutual trust, cooperation, and respect.

The Public Information Office works to inform the public through the local news media to make sure broadcast and print outlets have accurate and timely information on crimes, crime prevention, and police department service activities. In seeking information on crime and related matters, residents will get the most accurate information by contacting the Public Information Office directly.

The Public Information Office is staffed Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Residents can view press releases, past and present, by clicking on the links below or can register to receive releases and briefs through e-mail.
