Strong Arm Robbery - Northern
Northern District - Strong Arm Robbery Brooklyn Park
On Saturday, June 21st, 2014, at approximately 9:15 AM, officers from the Northern District responded to the 5100 block of Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park for a reported robbery of a citizen.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, a 43 year old male from Baltimore, who stated that he was standing in line, waiting to check out inside a discount store, when he removed cash from his pocket. The suspect, “…came out of nowhere.” The suspect struck the victim in the left side of the victim’s face with a fist, stunning him, and then put him in a chokehold from behind. The suspect tried grabbing the cash from the victim’s hand, and was successful in obtaining some of the victim’s cash. The suspect then ran from the store, and was witnessed running north across the parking lot. The victim was examined for injury by Anne Arundel County Fire Department personnel, but he refused treatment. Numerous patrol officers converged on the area to look for the suspect, but the suspect was not located.
Suspect: B/M, about 25 years of age, about 6’02”, 175 lbs. wearing black pants, black shirt with an orange colored design on it, and carrying black colored sunglasses.
