Armed Robbery Hanover
On February 15, 2013 at approximately 3:00 PM Officers responded to the parking lot of the Arundel Mills Mall located at 7000 Arundel Mills Circle Hanover, Maryland 21076, for a report of an armed robbery of a citizen.
The victim, a 36 year old female, advised she was entering her vehicle parked near the Neiman Marcus Last Call when she was approached by a black male suspect, wearing a gray hooded shirt, armed with a knife. The suspect displayed the knife and demanded the victims’ purse. The victim struggled with the suspect and received a knife wound to the hand. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Numerous witnesses provided a description of the suspect vehicle, a green Acura SUV displaying MD registration 1AX9457 and a lookout was broadcast for the suspect vehicle to surrounding jurisdictions. A Trooper with the Maryland State Police observed the suspect vehicle traveling north-bound on MD 295 North approaching IS 695 and initiated a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle failed to stop for the Trooper and continued into Baltimore City.
The suspect vehicle struck a building in Baltimore City and the suspect operating the vehicle fled on foot. The suspect was apprehended in the area by the Trooper and Baltimore City Officers. Officers with Anne Arundel County took custody of the suspect and transported him to Western District for processing and charging.
The suspect will be charged with Armed Robbery, First and Second Degree Assault and other related charges.
