BANK ROBBERY ARREST                                                                                      CROFTON

 On February 6, 2013, around 11:12 a.m., Western District officers responded to the PNC Bank located in the 1100 block of Route 3 North in Crofton for an armed robbery in progress.

Officers learned that a female suspect approached the teller and demanded money after implying she was armed with a handgun. The teller complied and provided the suspect with an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. The suspect then fled the area in her SUV. Several officers from multiple jurisdictions helped search the area for the suspect. Around 11:24 a.m., a Crofton officer and a Prince George’s County officer located the suspect parked on the lot of the Sacred Heart Church at 16501 Annapolis Road in Bowie. The suspect refused to exit her vehicle and officers followed the vehicle from Bowie along Route 450 towards Annapolis.

At the intersection of Crownsville Road and Route 450, Anne Arundel County officers safely deployed stop sticks and disabled the suspect’s vehicle. The vehicle eventually came to a safe stop on the right shoulder of Route 50 West just on the ramp leading to I-97 North at approximately 11:40 a.m. The suspect attempted to flee on foot but was immediately apprehended by officers with assistance from a K-9 unit. The suspect sustained a minor bite from the K-9 and was transported to the hospital for treatment. No one else was injured during the incident. No booking photo is being released due to the ongoing investigation.

INDECENT EXPOSURE                                                                                    GLEN BURNIE


On February 6, 2013, at approximately 8:31 a.m., officers from the Northern District responded to the area of Ritchie Highway and Aquahart Road in Glen Burnie for a report of indecent exposure.


Upon arrival, officers spoke with the 20-year-old female victim, who indicated that she was walking along Aquahart Road to a bus stop on southbound Ritchie Highway when she observed a beige/white vehicle following her. The vehicle passed her and slowed down. A male suspect exited the vehicle and approached the victim as she arrived at the bus stop. The suspect then proceeded to expose himself and commit a lewd act before fleeing the area in his vehicle. The victim ran from the area and contacted police. The suspect was described as a white male in his late 40's with gray hair, wearing prescription glasses, a brown jacket and khaki pants. The suspect vehicle was described as a beige/white four door sedan. Numerous officers canvassed the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle. WEAPONS OFFENSE                                                                                                ODENTON           


On February 5, 2013, at approximately 12:30 p.m., the School Resource Officer assigned to Arundel Middle School located at 1179 Hammond Lane in Odenton, Maryland, was made aware by school officials that a male student was observed in possession of a knife inside of the school.


The officer learned that the 12-year-old male student threatened a 12-year-old male student and an 11-year-old female student with the knife in separate incidents inside of the school. The suspect was located and detained and a three inch folding knife was located inside of his locker. The knife was immediately confiscated and the student was charged on a misdemeanor juvenile citation with one count of possession of a dangerous weapon on school property and two counts of threatening students under Education Article 26-101. The student was released to the custody of a parent.
