AGGRESSIVE ANIMALS                                                                                         PASADENA

On February 9, 2013, at approximately 11:03 p.m., officers from the Eastern District responded to a residence in the 800 block of Woods Road in Pasadena for an aggressive animal complaint.

Upon arrival, officers learned that two goats on the property were killed by two dogs.  During the incident, one of the dogs, a two-year-old Husky, was shot and killed by a neighbor. Officers determined that both dogs entered the fenced in goat pen on the property, attacked and killed both goats. The neighbor was called by the owner of the goats to assist as the goats were being attacked. He responded to the backyard of the house and observed both the dogs attacking the goats. He attempted to stop them, but both dogs turned and charged at him. As a result, the Husky was shot and killed. The other dog, tentatively described as a Shepherd/Husky mix, was shot at and possibly wounded. That dog ran away and has not been located at this time.

The owner of the deceased Husky was notified of incident. That dog has no prior incident history with Animal Control. It is believed that the Husky escaped its property underneath a fence before making its way onto the farm property, where the attack took place. Animal Control is continuing the investigation and is attempting to locate the second dog and that dog’s owner(s). Eastern District officers recovered the firearm believed to have been used during the incident. Police Department procedures are in place to verify that the owners had legal authority to own the weapon. Anyone with information on this incident or the whereabouts of the second dog or its owners is asked to contact Anne Arundel County Animal Control at 410-222-8900.
