ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY ARREST                                                        HANOVER


On January 29, 2013, at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers from the Western District responded to the parking lot of the Arundel Mills Mall located at 7000 Arundel Mills Circle in Hanover for a report of an armed subject with a handgun.


Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victims, an 18-year-old male and a 19-year-old male, who stated they were entering their vehicle parked in front of Neiman Marcus when a male suspect entered the rear seat of the vehicle, displayed a possible handgun and ordered them not to move. One of the victims immediately exited the vehicle to run for safety. The second victim was searched by the suspect, but no property was taken from him. The suspect then fled the area south toward Best Buy.


Officers immediately located the suspect based on the description provided by the victims and detained him near Best Buy. The victims positively identified the suspect and he was transported to Western District, where he was charged. Additionally, officers recovered a weapon at the scene believed to have been used in the incident. The investigation revealed that the victims and suspect were known to each other through a previous encounter and this was a targeted incident.

COMMERCIAL ARMED ROBBERY                                                          SEVERNA PARK


On January 29, 2013, at approximately 7:48 p.m., officers from the Eastern District responded to the A T&T store located in the 100 block of Ritchie Highway South in Severna Park for a report of an armed robbery of the business. 


Upon arrival, officers spoke with an employee, who indicated that two male suspects entered the store and one suspect displayed a handgun. The suspects demanded merchandise from the store and ultimately took an unknown quantity of phones. The suspects subsequently fled the store in an unknown direction. Several officers searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspects.


Suspects: Two black males, approximately 6’2”, wearing dark coats and masks


ARMED ROBBERY (CITIZEN)                                                                       GLEN BURNIE

 On January 29, 2013, at approximately 7:04 a.m., officers from the Eastern District responded to the 7900 block of Nolpark Court in Glen Burnie for a report of an armed robbery of a citizen.


Officers learned that a 57-year-old female victim was approached by an unknown male suspect as she was getting into her car. The suspect put an object up against her back and demanded all of her money. The victim complied by handing over an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect, who was armed with a possible firearm. The victim turned away and was subsequently struck with the weapon.  The victim then drove herself to The Baltimore Washington Medical Center prior to police arrival for treatment on non-life threatening injuries. Numerous officers canvassed the vicinity, but could not locate the suspect. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Detective M. Suspect: Hispanic male, approximately 6’2”, 170 pounds, wearing a black or blue beanie cap, a black hooded sweat shirt, and black pants




STABBING                                                                                                           GLEN BURNIE


On January 29, 2013, at approximately 6:46 p.m., officers from the Northern District responded to Genine Drive in Glen Burnie for a report of a stabbing. 


Upon arrival, officers spoke with the 29-year-old male victim, who advised that he was walking in the area of Genine Drive and Sunnybrook Drive when two male suspects approached him from behind. The suspects began to strike victim and he was able to run from them and get to a safe location when he realized he had been stabbed in the upper body during the struggle with the suspects. Several officers, a K-9 unit and the Aviation Unit canvassed the area, but were unable to locate the suspects. The victim was transported to Shock Trauma for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
