Watershed Management Program Intern

   
Department: Department of Public Works, Bureau of Engineering

    

Duties: Assist in the development, maintenance and review of various GIS databases, such as land cover, imperviousness, and best management practices in order to support the County’s Watershed Management Tool. This position will provide an excellent opportunity to gain valuable engineering and GIS experience in an everyday working situation.
   

Qualifications: The candidate should be pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering (Environmental or Water Resources preferred), Biological Resources Engineering or a related field, with basic knowledge of GIS principles. Preference will be given top applicants with ESRI ArcGIS8.x (ArcMap), ArcCatalog, ArcToolbox) experience in a Windows platform. Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel and Access) is a plus. Candidates should be able to work in a team environment.
